Bulgaria's leading trading partners in the import of furniture in 2017

In 2017, Bulgaria's 10 leading trading partners for the furniture, mattress and lighting products category are: China, Poland, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Romania, Greece, Austria, Serbia and Spain.

 

 

 

China consistently retains its leading position with 29% of total imports, followed by Poland reaching only half of this volume, namely 14%.

Size of direct foreign investments in Bulgaria by country

Nearly 180 countries have direct investments in Bulgaria. In the distribution of FDI by country, there is some positive movement. The positivity assessment is based on a definite (albeit minimal) pre-emptive participation of the EU countries. Total FDI in Bulgaria for 2014-2017 increased by 2.8%, while EU Member States increased by 3.2%. European investments (EU) form permanently about 4/5 of the total volume of FDI in Bulgaria.

The document signed between the two parties regulates the employment of workers for a maximum of 3 years. Bulgaria and Moldova will already be exchanging their workforce. This is made possible through the signing agreement on the regulation of labor migration between the two countries. The document, signed by the Bulgarian and Moldovan social ministers, Bisser Petkov and Svetlana Chebotari, regulates the employment of Moldovan workers in Bulgaria and Bulgarian in Moldova for a period of one year with the possibility of a further extension for a total of up to 3 years.

Bulgarian exports to the UK have doubled over the past ten years

Bulgaria's exports to the UK have grown steadily over the past few years, exceeding € 650 million in 2017. This is almost double the year-over-2007 and more than three times the year before our accession to the EU. Meeting between IKEA and member firms of BBCWFI

On April 27, 2018, at the Inter Expo Center, the first meeting between the Business Development Manager for Bulgaria of IKEA and member companies of BBCWFI took place during the "World of Furniture" and "Technomel" exhibitions.

 

The aim of the meeting was to establish business contacts with the companies in the furniture industry, who are looking for partnership and supply of products in the IKEA store chain.

In the bilateral talks organized by the Chamber, 15 companies took part.
