Bulgarian furniture continues to be attractive abroad due to its good price-quality ratio, it became clear during the Annual Conference organized by the Bulgarian Furniture and Furniture Association on November 22-23 at the Rila Hotel in Borovets. This is the largest forum for the woodworking and furniture industries, which was attended by over 300 representatives from the branch.
The conference was presented by the Chairman of the Bulgarian Agricultural and Food Council, Prof. Dr. Vasil Zhivkov, and the official part was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Eng. Miroslav Marinov, the Executive Director of the Executive Forestry Agency Eng. Stoyan Toshev, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of BIA Dobri Mitrev, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of AIKB Vasil Velev, the Mayor of Samokov Angel Dzhorgov, the Vice-Rector of LTU Prof. Dr. Petar Antov, etc. On the occasion of the forum, a congratulatory letter was read on behalf of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev. The Chief Expert of the Ministry of Economy Ivaylo Stefanov also congratulated the participants on behalf of the Minister of Economy and Industry Petko Nikolov.
Awards for the industry
During the conference, the Chamber handed out the annual awards for the 2nd branch. The award for the fastest growing micro-enterprise was presented by the Mayor of Samokov Angel Dzhorgov to the company Technovita. Nominations were received by Alfa RT Design and Gepeto Machinari. The prize in the category of the fastest growing small enterprise was given to the company Pachkov. The plaque and diploma were presented by the Executive Director of IAG Eng. Stoyan Toshev. Ligna Group and Harmont were also nominated. The company Mebelor was ranked first for the fastest growing medium-sized enterprise. The award was given to them by the Chairman of the Board of AIKB Vasil Velev. In the nomination category, Valiyan and Kan Uchtechsport received nominations. In the category of the fastest growing large enterprise, first place was announced by the Chairman of the Board of BIA Dobri Mitrev and went to the company Rollplast. Mebel Stil and TED BED also received nominations. For exporter in the furniture manufacturing sector, the first place was awarded to the company Sredna Gora. Nominations were received by IRIM and TED BED. The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Eng. Miroslav Marinov, presented the award for exporter in the wood processing sector to Kronoshpan Bulgaria. Gorainvest and Kastamonu Bulgaria were also nominated in the category. The company TED BED was awarded as a socially responsible enterprise. For the most courageous investment in the industry, a prize was given to Mebel Stil. The Deputy Rector of the LTU, Prof. Dr. Petar Antov, gave the award for contribution to the development of professional education at the Vocational High School of Forestry and Wood Processing “Sava Mladenov”, Teteven. For overall contribution to the industry, a statuette was received by the director of the PGVAD “Hristo Botev”, Plovdiv, Eng. Konstantin Kostadinov. The “Brave Heart” award went to Martin Yovcheski, presented to him by Iva Gerasimova, Deputy Director of the IEC.
