At a meeting of the board of directors, on March 9, 2018, in Vienna, Austria, the BCWFI was formally adopted by the European Furniture Industries Confederation (EFIC) as a regular member of the organization.

EFIC is a member of almost all branch organizations of European countries with developed furniture industry: Austria, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Slovakia, Turkey, Sweden and the Associated Member – ICEA, Sweden.

EFIC members account for about 70% of the total turnover of the furniture industry in Europe, a sector employing about 1.1 million workers in nearly 130,000 companies.

EFIC Chairman, since November 2011, is Mr. Marcus Wisner of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce.
